Random Friday: Opening Lines

Random Fridays

Hosted by Awkwordly Emma

“A book’s opening line is very important.  It can either make or break a reader’s decision to continue with the book.  It has to be enticing and memorable.” – Awkwordly Emma

I think that fits this prompt very nicely!

1. “It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”-Pride and Prejudice (of course)

2. “There is one mirror in my house.” –Divergent

3. “In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit.” –The Hobbit

4. “Mr and Mrs Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much.” –Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

5. “Marley was dead, to begin with.” –A Christmas Carol

6. “Words. I’m surrounded by thousands of words. Maybe millions.” –Out Of My Mind
