About Me
I write under the pen name Rose Tyler. I hope to soon use my real name, but I am sticking with Rose for now.
This is the blog of a bookworm, writer, movie nut, foodie, Whovian, Sherlockian, Disney lover, and active Pinterest-er. I love God, traveling, vintage things, curling up with a good book or movie, eating (duh!), fangirling, spending time with friends and family, laughing, and blogging.
One of my life goals is to travel the world to search for new sights, new tastes, new books, new experiences. But first I have to start with searching the clouds.

About Searching the Clouds
The Name
I decided to dub my blog Searching the Clouds because (as many of you know) I love traveling, and when traveling, there aren’t a lot of constants. Things are always changing. But one of the constants I find when I travel are the clouds. No matter what, they are always there. When I’m away and feeling lonely, I search the clouds.
The Blog
I started Searching the Clouds in September 2013, and I didn’t really know what type of blog I was going to make it (hence the name). I still can’t really pin it down to one thing.
Except for book reviews, of course.
I know what you’re thinking. “If it’s a book blog, why didn’t you give it an awesome bookish name? Even though it’s a book blog, I do dabble in other topics, such as writing, baking, movie reviewing, and traveling. I didn’t want my blog to be restrained to any one thing, so that’s why I gave it a diverse name.
Your blog is so dreamy! I love it!! Please do more book reviews – I can’t get enough of them!!!!
Thanks, Taylor! I will certainly try to do more book reviews – I have been really busy lately so it’s a little hard.
It’s a cute new theme
Thanks! I thought so.
I absolutely LOVE your blog. If you have time, I would love to see a list of the books on your favorites shelf. I have ended up loving so many of the books you blog about!
Thank you! That means so much to me. I have been thinking about a favorite book page for some time – the main problem is how long it takes to write it! ;) I am so happy you have liked the books I blogged about! Which are your favorites?
ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That makes me incredibly happy! I will definitely try to do a page about my favorite books. :)
Good, because I’m having a difficult time finding books that I like right away, and whenever I look up a book of must-reads online, the lists consist of books like ” A Wrinkle in Time”, which I tried to read, but I couldn’t comprehend it.
I totally feel where you’re coming from. Some quick recommendations off the top of my head would include Out Of My Mind by Sharon Draper and Cinders & Sapphires by Leila Rasheed. I really enjoyed those two. :)
I am really excited to find your blog! I love, love, love the title and also love many of the same things you shared in “About.” I read a lot of YA as well as other books, and have heard great things about Out of My Mind, but hadn’t heard about Cinders and Sapphires. The title alone sounds great! I had been following Lynette Noni’s blog and enjoyed your interview of her.
I am excited you found it, too! :D I will be sure to check out your blog, as well! Cinders & Sapphires is historical fiction, and I did a review for it here: https://searchingtheclouds.wordpress.com/2014/01/29/cinders-sapphires/
Thanks for wandering around my blog! :)
Hi, Rose! :) I “re-discovered” your blog today, because I remember Heather Vogel Frederick saying you did an interview with her a few months ago on her own blog. Your blog is so cool! I just started my own book blog and was looking for a few blogs to model it after. I’ve read many of the books on your shelf, too. (Including the MDBC!) How are you? I hope you had a great time in Disney World! ;)
Hi, Emily! I’m glad you found me again! Thank you! :) I’ll be sure to check out your blog as soon as possible. I am doing well – I just returned from WDW, and (as you may see) I am feeling guilty about not blogging more than the first day! However, I have decided to post some pictures rather than full run-downs of the days I was there. I am always happy to have a HVF fan visit my blog, and I can’t wait to hop over to yours! Thanks for stopping by! :)
Lovely blog you have here – the name is so whimsical! Also, I love your pseudonym… Doctor Who, anyone? ;)
Aw, thank you! YAY! YOU UNDERSTAND!
*ahem*
Hello there, fellow Whovian! I hope this means I have a new Whovian follower…?! :) :)
I wish I could say so, but unfortunately I haven’t actually watched Doctor Who! :P It’s just that I have a friend who’s kinda-sorta-completely obsessed with it, so I basically know everything about the show… ;) Oh well, it’s on my to-watch list!
Aw, man! I was so close dude! You should definitely watch it ASAP. Along with Sherlock, if convenient. If inconvenient, watch it anyway (hehe, Sherlock joke).
Actually I do watch Sherlock already! (ALSO I CAUGHT THAT REFERENCE YAAAAAY :D) It’s AMAZING, oh my gosh!
YAY!! Heehee.
Hi Rose! I nominated you for the sisterhood of the world bloggers award ;) I hope you can participate! http://forthebookish.com/sisterhood-of-the-world-bloggers-award/
